Hi sorry haven't posted anything. Wifi here has been pretty terrible. We just arrived in Siem Reap today after two nights in crazy, dusty Phnom Penh. Have been learning a lot about Cambodian history, the most gruesome was the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975-1979 that killed approx. 25% of the population through forced labour, starvation and mass executions in the short four years they were in power. We visited the Tuol Seng museum yesterday, a school that was turned into a prison, where approximately 17,000 people were tortured and killed. That was hard to see, there were many graphic photos, as similar to the nazis and their concentration camps, everything was documented.
Today we left at 7am to get to Siem Reap, which is the town near the Angkor Wat ruins. It was a long ride in, the family beside us was throwing up the whole time (the sound of throwing up made me want to throw up - it was pretty gross but I also felt really bad for them - must not be used to riding in cars), which made for a long 7hr journey. Upon arrival, we found out that our hostel that we booked two months ago had over booked so we, along with a number of other people, were re-located after another hour to another hotel. Phew. Long day. Anyways, we spent the last few hours checking out Siem Reap, which is a lot more calm and touristy compared to Phnom Penh. I like it, there's lots to do and everything is pretty close. Food and drinks are also quite a bit cheaper. We have been thoroughly enjoying the Cambodian food so far. So much flavour and lots of veggie options! Anyways I will post more tomorrow once we get back from the ruins.

Geoff already has a few mystery bites. Poor guy must be tasty - he's always getting bitten by something.
